Call for Participation
The aim of this event is to provide a dialog on the need for and use of technological advances such as AI. ML and Data Analytics in Malawi and to strengthen the cooperation among stakeholders in these areas.
The organisers invite all stakeholders including students, funding agencies, the research communities, government, internet providers, telecoms and financial services, manufacturing and engineering, to come together, learn and share their insights, concerns, needs, and vision for the use of and the future of technology, data, AI and ML in Malawi.
The themes focus on the requirements of data-driven science and the solutions for finding, accessing, integrating, and reusing data and analytical insights. Contributions that highlight requirements and opportunities for seamless usage of digital infrastructures for data management, storage, analysis, and curation as well as software, tools, and pipelines would be particularly topical.

Instructions for Submission
Note we will have two venues in which the event will run in parallel: Blantyre at MUBAS and Mzuzu at Mzuzu University. We may also be able to offer some sessions virtually. You should indicate the preferred venue in the application form.
All submissions should be on subjects relevant to the spirit and objectives of the conference. The topics described above are an indication of the scope of the conference but are not meant to be restrictive. Submissions are done via this Application Form.
Dates and Deadlines for IndabaX

- 12 July – Registration Opens – Application Form
- 25 August – Deadline for the First Submission
- 20 September – Deadline for the Second and Final Submission
- 9 October – Registration closes for IndabaX
- 13-14 October – The Main Event takes place
Contributions should be in the form of:
- Abstracts presenting ideas, proposals, work in progress or mature research
- Practical demonstrations
- Training
- Lecture or Paper presentation
- Presentations of technologies, products, services or platforms
- Research Posters
Full sessions are 30 minutes.
Short sessions are 15 minutes.
Demos and Practicals are up to 60 minutes.
Posters will be displayed throughout the event and opportunities to discuss them will be available during coffee breaks and a dedicated session.
